Sandra Alland is a writer, multimedia artist and activist. She was born and raised in Scarborough, a place in Canada promoted from borough to city, then demoted to suburb. She has lived in Toronto for 14 years (or 33 depending on Scarborough's status), and in Kensington Market for almost 10. Sandra is 1/2 Scottish, 1/4 Dutch and 1/4 French-Canadian cocktail. Sandra’s poems, plays, stories and articles have been published and presented across Canada, the US, Mexico, Bermuda, England, Scotland and Spain. Proof of a Tongue, her first full-length collection of poetry, was published in 2004, and Blissful Times was published in spring 2007.
