maude barlow is the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada's largest public advocacy organization with over 100,000 members. She is a director with the International Forum on Globalization, a San Francisco-based research and educational institution opposed to economic globalization, and co-founder of the Blue Planet Project, an international civil society movement to stop the commodification of water. Maude is the recipient of two honorary doctorates - from Memorial University in Newfoundland and the University of Victoria in British Columbia - and the bestselling author or co-author of 13 books. Her latest, with Tony Clarke, is Blue Gold: The Battle to Stop Corporate Theft of the World's Water and has been published in 10 countries.
