Theo Dorgan was born in Cork in 1953. He works in Dublin as Director of Poetry Ireland/Eigse Eireann, and as an occasional journalist and broadcaster. He was co-editor of The Great Book of Ireland, a single volume on vellum containing the work of 142 poets, 120 artists, each of whom worked directly on to the pages of the book. His books of poetry include Slow Air, A Moscow Quartet, and Sappho's Daughter, His poems have been translated into German, Romanian, Greek, Italian, and Hungarian.
