Matthew Firth was born in Hamilton in 1965 and now lives in Ottawa. He is the editor of the fiction/review magazine Front&Centre. His first full-length collection of short fiction, FreshMeat, was published in 1997. A new collection, Minimum Wage and Other Stories, is being launched at the festival. He is a juror for the newly founded ReLit Literary Awards. Matthew is married with one child and plays his off wing Friday nights at pickup hockey at the Brewer Arena.
