Scott Gardiner, author of King John of Canada, was born in Toronto, educated at the University of Western Ontario, and has worked and travelled widely across Canada. His writing career has involved a stint at Maclean’s, and he has been published in magazines such as Toronto Life and Canadian Geographic. In 2000 he published his first novel, The Dominion of Wyley McFadden. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two children, and although he has never belonged to a political party, he maintains a lively interest in politics.
