Robert Hilles was born in Kenora, Ontario in 1951. He moved to Calgary twenty-one years ago where he now lives with his wife Rebecca Knight and their two children: Breanne and Austin. An award-winning novelist, poet and non-fiction writer, his books include Raising of Voices, Look The Outlasting the Landscape, Kissing Smoke and Cantos From A Small Room which won the Governor General's Award for Poetry in 1994.
