Robert Kroetsch is one of Canada's most accomplished authors. He was born in Heisler, Alberta, in 1927. His first novel, But We Are Exiles, was published in 1965, and his book The Studhorse Man won the Governor General's Award. His most recent book is The Hornbooks of Rita K. Robert's enormous contribution to Canadian literature spans fiction, non-fiction, poetry and scholarship, and he is recognized internationally for both his writing and his teaching. He lives in Winnipeg.
