Eric McCormack was born in a small village in Scotland. He moved to Canada in 1966 and attended the University of Manitoba. His debut collection, Inspecting the Vaults, was hailed by critics and readers alike. His novel, First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment of Women, was nominated for the Governor General's Award for Fiction. Since 1970 Eric has taught English at St. Jerome's College, Waterloo, Ontario, specializing in 17th Century and Contemporary literature. The Dutch Wife is his latest book.
