Billeh Nickerson was born on Valentine’s Day, 1972, in Halifax. He was raised in Langley, B.C., was educated at the universities of Victoria and British Columbia, and teaches at Kwantlen University College in Richmond, B.C. He is a contributing editor at Geist and was the editor of Event from 2004 to 2006. He is a founding member of the performance troupe, Haiku Night in Canada, a contributor to CBC Radio 3, and an event programmer at the Vancouver International Writers Festival. Billeh has published Let Me Kiss It Better, a book of essays drawn from his Xtra West column, “Hardcore Homo.” Asthmatic Glassblower and Other Poems was nominated for the 2002 Publishing Triangle Gay Men’s Poetry Award.
