Alison Pick, winner of the CBC Literary Award for poetry, was born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1975, and grew up in Kitchener. She attended the University of Guelph, where she received her degree in Psychology. Alison's first book of poetry, Question & Answer, won her both the 2002 Bronwen Wallace Award for Poetry, and a National Magazine Award for Poetry. She was short-listed for the Gerald Lampert Award and for a Newfoundland and Labrador Book Award. A second collection, The Dream World, is due out with McClelland & Stewart in March 2008. The Sweet Edge, her first novel, was a Globe and Mail Top 100 Book of the year. She has lived, published, taught, and read across Canada. She now lives in Toronto.
