Andrej E. Skubic was born in 1967. He has been publishing short stories in Slovenian literary magazines since 1989. His first novel, Bitter Honey (1999) received the 2000 "Kresnik" Novel of the Year and 2000 Literary Debut of the Year awards; his second novel, Fuzine Blues (2001), was shortlisted for 2002 "Kresnik" Novel of the Year and is currently being translated into Czech and Croatian. He translated several Irish and Scottish novels and edited the Anthology of Modern Scottish Short Stories in Slovenian (2002). His first book of short stories in due to be published in May 2004.
