Wislawa Szymborska was born in Kornik on July 2, 1923. She published 16 collections of poetry between 1952 and 1996. Her work has been translated into more than 12 languages and has been published all over the world. She won the Goethe Prize in 1991, the Herder Prize in 1995 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996. Agata Pilitowska graduated from the Cracow School of Drama and has performed in plays across Canada and internationally. She is currently a television host and reporter on Omni Television.
