Daniel Scott Tysdal received the John V. Hicks Manuscript Award from the Saskatchewan Writers Guild for Predicting the Next Big Advertising Breakthrough Using a Potentially Dangerous Method. It is his first book publication, but his poetry has appeared in a number of Canadian literary journals and has aired on CBC Radio, where he was a finalist in the 2005 National Poetry Face-Off. A poem from this collection, "An Experiment in Form," received an honourable mention at the National Magazine Awards.

Born in Moose Jaw, Daniel Scott Tysdal is completing his Masters Degree studies in English, and has worked as a bartender, groundskeeper and English teacher. He continues to live in Moose Jaw.
