Kim J. Vicente is Professor of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, and Founding Director of U of T's Cognitive Engineering Laboratory. He is the Jerome Clarke Hunsaker Distinguished Visiting Professor of Aerospace Information Engineering at M.I.T. In 1999, Kim authored the first textbook in the area of cognitive work analysis, Cognitive Work Analysis: Toward Safe, Productive, and Healthy Computer-based Work. His latest book is The Human Factor: Revolutionizing the Way We Live with Technology. Kim has lectured in nine countries on four continents and has advised scores of industries and government agencies, ranging from the Microsoft, NASA Ames Research Center, to NATO, Nortel Networks, and the U.S. Air Force.
