Author of a dozen books of fiction and poetry, SeÁn Virgo is one of Canada's greatest storytellers. He has won short story competitions from the CBC and BBC 3, as well as National Magazine Awards in both genres. Born in Malta of Irish parents he lived in South Africa, Malaya, Ireland and the UK, before becoming a Canadian. He has spent time on the west and east coasts, and in southern Ontario, and now lives in rural Saskatchewan. The stories in Begging Questions are the result of 15 years of writing, revising and polishing. Writing in the Toronto Star, Wayne Grady said of his last collection, "Virgo is fearless: he wills his curiosity about people to draw him into situations where lesser writers fear to tread."
