Abdourahman A. Waberi is an award-winning writer from Djibouti whose
work has been translated into several languages. He is the author of the
short story collection, The Land Without Shadows, and the novels In the United States of Africa, Passage of Tears and Transit.
The themes of his work include the nomadic life, colonial and
postcolonial hardships, exile, utopia, emancipation and tolerance. He
currently teaches French and Francophone Studies and Creative Writing at
George Washington University in Washington D.C.
