Carmen Rodríguez was born in Chile and came to Canada following the 1973 military coup in Chile. She made her home in Vancouver, where she works as a writer, educator and journalist. Her previous publications include a collection of poetry, Guerra Prolongada/Protracted War, and a collection of short stories, and a body to remember with/De cuerpo entero, along with contributions to numerous anthologies and journals. Rodríguez has received praise and accolades for her writing in both English and Spanish, and has been a finalist for the City of Vancouver Book Award as well as receiving honorary mention in the City of Santiago Literary Awards. Retribution is her latest book.
