Donations to the Parkdale Food Centre gratefully accepted at this event. Canned salmon, sardines, oats, canned tomatoes and pasta especially needed.

The past few years have ushered in massive changes in our understanding of the importance of nutrition in our personal health and well being not to mention the importance of food security in the health of our communities.
Tonight we hear from five community leaders who are at the forefront of this food literacy movement:  Jess Fletcher, Executive Chef at Bridgehead, Ross May, co-owner of Seed to Sausage, Sara Dubeau, DHHP, DMH, an Integrative Natural Health Practitioner, Karen Secord, Manager of the Parkdale Food Centre, and  Sara Pishva, founder of Top Shelf Preserves.

The Festival Café, onsite in Christ Church Cathedral, will be open and featuring great local food from  Dash Mobile Cookery!

à la carte: Free food literacy events presented in partnership with the Ottawa Public Library with support from the government of Ontario. 

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the Canada Council's Public Lending Right Program (PLR), which aims to encourage Canadian authors to maintain their rightful place in the development of our cultural life.
