A Republic of Childhood Event
"Charles de Lint is the modern master of urban fantasy. Folktale, myth, fairy tale, dreams, urban legend—all of it adds up to pure magic in de Lint's vivid, original world. No one does it better.

Don’t miss the Ottawa Public Library, Rosemount branch, and Glashan Public School Showcase, featuring stories from the next generation written during workshops by award winning writers Charles de Lint and Amal El-Mohtar.

Charles de Lint, singer, songwriter and modern master of urban fantasy mentored thirteen selected young writers at the Rosemount Public Library. Come share in the magic!

Amal El-Mohtar, critically acclaimed writer of prose, poetry, and criticism, guided students through the alchemy of elements, touching on fairy tales, poetry and the role of sensory input in stimulating the imagination. The results are quite tasty!
